Depart Marrakech in the morning and head towards the High Atlas Mountains, crossing the scenic Tizi n’Tichka Pass. Stop at Ait Ben Haddou, the UNESCO-listed ksar famous for its kasbahs and as a filming location for many movies. Continue to Ouarzazate, the “Gateway to the Desert,” for a short visit to the Taourirt Kasbah. In the afternoon, drive through the Dades Valley, marveling at its striking landscapes. After breakfast, depart towards Todra Gorge, famous for its towering red cliffs and narrow canyon. Enjoy a short walk and take in the breathtaking scenery. Continue your journey through the desert landscapes until you reach Merzouga, the gateway to the Sahara Desert. In the late afternoon, embark on a camel trek to your desert camp, where you will spend the night under the stars in traditional tents, accompanied by a magical desert sunset. Wake up early to enjoy a sunrise over the dunes. After breakfast, explore the erg chebbi dunes either by camel or 4x4. Visit a nomadic village, learn about the local Berber culture, and experience traditional desert life. Return to your camp for an overnight stay, with optional music around the campfire under the clear desert sky.
After breakfast, depart Merzouga and head towards Rissani, an important historic town and former caravan center. Continue through the scenic valleys of the Atlas Mountains, stopping for photos and short walks as you drive back towards Ouarzazate. Visit Kelaat M’Gouna (optional) and its famous rose valleys if time permits. Accommodation : RS Hotel Karam or Similar Meals : Half Board
After breakfast, depart Ouarzazate and revisit Ait Ben Haddou for a short stop or photo opportunity. Continue across the High Atlas Mountains, enjoying the stunning landscapes and the Tizi n’Tichka pass, before returning to Marrakech in the afternoon. End of the trip with a drop-off at your hotel or location of choice in Marrakech.
