Day 1 AKWAABA-WELCOME Arrive in Accra, Ghana. You will be met at the airport by our representatives who will assist you with your transfer from the airport to your hotel. Enjoy a welcome drink at the hotel and participate in an orientation session. Overnight at Lancaster Accra Hotel. Meals included: Welcome Dinner.

Day 2 2026

ACCRA CITY TOUR – VISIT A TRADITIONAL AFRICAN MARKET After breakfast, set out to explore Accra, diving into the city’s rich history and cultural vibrancy. Begin at the Kwame Nkrumah Mausoleum, a serene memorial dedicated to Ghana’s first president. Stroll through its peaceful gardens, visit the striking mausoleum, and explore a museum filled with artefacts that celebrate Nkrumah’s legacy and his role in Ghana’s independence

Day 3 SLAVE DUNGEON EXPERIENCE After breakfast, check out of your hotel and depart for Cape Coast. Upon arrival, you will embark on a tour of the infamous Forts, Castles, and Slave Dungeons of Ghana. History will unfold the story of the slave trade which the impact is still felt beyond the shores of Africa today. Day 4 2026

KAKUM NATIONAL PARK – SLAVE DUNGEON EXPERIENCE After breakfast, check out of your hotel and depart to Cape Coast and drive through the historic Denkyira Kingdom to Kakum National Park, one of West Africa’s surviving tropical rainforests. Choose between a 2 km nature walk through the rain forest to discover the wide variety of exotic flora and fauna species and the medicinal values they offer, or take a walk on the canopy walkway hanging 40 meters above the forest ground.

Day 5 FORTS IN SEKONDI – TAKORADI CITY TOUR After breakfast, check out of your hotel and depart for a drive along the coast to Sekondi and Takoradi in the Western Region. Visit Fort St. Sebastian and Fort Orange at Shama and Sekondi. These Forts were built as Dutch lodges in 1526 and 16410 respectively, and were used to store gold, palm nuts and slaves before being shipped to Europe.

Day 6 FORT APOLLONIA – FORT METAL CROSS After breakfast, embark on a tour to Fort Apollonia in the town of Beyin. The name Apollonia was given to the area by a Portuguese explorer who sighted the place on the Feast of Saint Apollonia, 9 February. The Swedes established a trading post at Apollonia as part of the Swedish Gold Coast between 1655-1657

Day 7 ASSIN MANSO – KUMASI CITY TOUR After breakfast, check out of your hotel and depart to Cape Coast. Take a detour to the former slave in Assin Manso. Visit the site of “Donkor Nsuo”, the former Slave River and market, as well as the final transit point for a large number of enslaved Africans. This is the final resting place for two ancestors whose mortal remains were returned from the USA and Jamaica and re-interred there.

Day 8 ASHANTI CRAFT VILLAGES After breakfast, spend the day discovering the artistry of Ashanti crafts in three renowned villages. At Bonwire, watch as artisans create vibrant kente cloth using traditional looms. In Ntonso, explore the process of printing Adinkra cloth with symbolic designs and even try your hand at creating your own piece.

KUMASI – BESEASE SHRINE – ACCRA After breakfast, check out of your hotel and depart for Accra. En route to Accra, stop at the Besease shrine, a UNESCO World Heritage site. The Besease Shrine is a traditional fetish shrine near the town of Ejisu. Each of these shrines is a home for a particular spirit, called obosom, that mediates between mortals and the supreme god Nyame. Observe the unique architecture and experience the mode of ancestral worship to the ancient gods.
