Madagascar 7-day Experience: Nature, Wildlife & Local Culture
This is a 7-day tour of Madagascar combining nature, culture, and relaxation. It includes exploring volcanic landscapes and lakes around Ampefy, visiting artisanal workshops and heritage sites in Antsirabe, and discovering the historical and commercial highlights of Antananarivo. Day 1: Arrival in Antananarivo → Ampefy
Begin your journey with a scenic drive to Ampefy (≈120 km, 3–4 hours). Upon arrival, settle in at your hotel or lodge and relax after your trip.
Day 2: Exploring Ampefy
Discover the natural beauty of Ampefy with a visit to the stunning Lily Waterfalls, followed by a stop at the local geyser. Capture breathtaking views and enjoy the peaceful surroundings.
Day 3: Ampefy → Antsirabe Travel along a picturesque route to Antsirabe (≈140 km, 3–4 hours). Once there, explore the charming city known for its vibrant markets and colonial architecture.
Day 4: Antsirabe City Tour
Visit traditional rickshaw (pousse-pousse) workshops and local gem studios to see Malagasy craftsmanship firsthand. Take a bike ride or a rickshaw tour around the city and nearby countryside for a relaxed and immersive experience.
Day 5: Lakes Tritriva & Andraikiba Excursion
Spend a full day exploring the scenic lakes of Tritriva and Andraikiba. Enjoy walks, panoramic photo opportunities, and observe the local flora and fauna. A lakeside picnic can be arranged for a memorable lunch amid nature.
Day 6: Antsirabe → Antananarivo
Return to the capital (≈170 km, 5–6 hours), enjoying the beautiful landscapes along the way.
Day 7: Antananarivo & Departure
Choose between visiting Ambohimanga Hill, a UNESCO World Heritage site and former royal residence, or the Upper Town and the Rova, the historic heart of Antananarivo with the royal palace and sweeping city views. Complete your trip with last-minute souvenir shopping before being transferred to the airport for your departure.
