Immersive Conservation Experience At Ol Pejeta Conservancy
Kazi is Swahili for work. Embark on a week-long adventure trip to Ol Pejeta Conservancy, featuring immersive behind-the-scenes experiences that form a sustainable model for conservation. Enrolling in the 8-day Kazi program grants participants new conservation bases where they gain invaluable experience and start their journeys as ambassadors of hope for endangered species. This program offers you a transformative journey that transcends borders, inviting you to be a champion of change for wildlife and the ecosystem, while having wild fun at one of the best wildlife conservation bases in Africa.
Day 1: Depart Nairobi at 7:30 a.m. for Ol Pejeta.
Arrival and check-in at The Stables Ol Pejeta Conservancy overview, safety orientation and evening game drive.

Day 2: Early morning game drive including a visit to the Sweetwaters Chimpanzee Sanctuary, Ol Pejeta Nature Trail, The Rhino Cemetery and a visit to Morani Information Centre, where you will also have an up-and-close encounter with Baraka, the blind rhino, who is our ambassador for black rhinos Later in the afternoon, you will go on a bushwalk.

Day 3: Work with the dogs and K9 anti-poaching unit, which will involve you cleaning, feeding and grooming the dogs. You will also train with our tracker dogs as you try to escape their pursuit across the conservancy.

Day 4 Field work with the Ecological Monitoring Unit to learn about what it takes to manage a conservation area tracking, identifying predators, and assisting with vegetation monitoring. All meals and overnight at the Stables
Day 5 Start the day working with the northern white rhinos’ caregivers, and later on, track and monitor the Rhinos in the field.

Day 6; After breakfast, visit the Mt. Kenya Animal Orphanage for the day. Later in the day, visit Nanyuki town, including The Equator and Cedar Mall. Return to the Stables for freshening up, dinner, and an overnight stay.
Day 7: Spend half a day walking with herders, grazing cattle on the plains as you learn about how Ol Pejeta integrates cattle with wildlife, and uses livestock as a means to manage the rangelands effectively. Later on, work with the Ecological Monitoring department in the office. All meals and overnight at The Stables.
Wake up to an early morning game drive.
Departure at 10 am after breakfast, with a shared/ private transfer back to Nairobi.
Suitable for all fitness levels, please bring along sunscreen lotion, long-sleeved shirts, comfortable boots, and pack clothes whose colours blend in with nature, such as cargo pants, beige, grey, or jungle green.
