Day Tour Of Ziwa Rhino Tracking With Pick Up And Drop Offf
This 1 Day Rhino Tracking Tour to Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary and Wildlife Ranch is a short Uganda day Tour that will take you to Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary and Wildlife Ranch to track the endangered southern White Rhinos on foot with an armed guide ranger and view them at a safe distance. This will give you a chance to get up close with the Rhinos in their natural habitat. The Rhinos were reintroduced to the sanctuary for conservation, and the magical encounter with them makes up the list of the Big Five African game, since it's the only destination for Rhino tracking in Uganda.
Depending on the location of the Rhinos, you may need to drive closer to their location before you start the trek to reduce the walking distance. Once you locate the Rhinos, you can stay with them for a maximum of one hour in their presence. Sometimes different families are within a distance of each other, in which case you will get an opportunity to visit more than one rhino group, capture pictures, learn their behaviours and return from your foot walk experience. The Rhino search is a 2-3 hour trek into the wildlife Sanctuary, giving you a chance to view Rhinos at a close but safe distance. You also have a chance of sighting other animals on this nature walk if lucky like the Waterbucks, Bushbucks, Gazelles, Antelopes, primates such as Colobus and Vervet monkeys, duikers, Mongoose and many different bird species.
We drive from Kampala at 7:00 am for a 3-hour drive North of Kampala, Gulu highway to Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary and Wildlife Ranch.
On arrival at the Ziwa Rhino sanctuary, you will be briefed by a ranger guide about the history and how to behave while on the Rhino trekking Tour.
