8-day Wild Uganda: Chimps, Gorillas & Walking With Wildlife
This is Uganda — raw, alive, and unforgettable. Over eight days, journey from lush rainforests to golden savannahs, from playful chimpanzees to majestic mountain gorillas. Cruise along the Kazinga Channel, watch elephants bathe at sunset, and walk among zebra and impala in Lake Mburo.
Each day reveals a new rhythm of the wild, led by our local expert guides who know these landscapes like home. This safari isn’t just about ticking off wildlife — it’s about feeling the pulse of Uganda, connecting deeply with nature, and leaving with stories that stay with you long after you return.
Arrive at Entebbe International Airport, where your adventure guide will warmly welcome you. Entebbe, set on the shores of Lake Victoria, is lush and peaceful — the perfect place to unwind after your journey. Relax in the gardens, or enjoy a round of golf as you prepare for your adventure ahead.
After breakfast, travel west through tea plantations and villages to Kibale National Park, famous for its large chimpanzee population. In the afternoon, explore Bigodi Wetland Sanctuary, a vibrant community-run project home to rare birds, monkeys, and butterflies. Your visit directly supports local conservation and community livelihoods.
Head into the forest for an unforgettable chimpanzee tracking experience. Watch these intelligent primates swing and chatter in the canopy — a thrilling wildlife encounter. After lunch, drive south to Queen Elizabeth National Park, where the Rwenzori Mountains form a dramatic backdrop. If time allows, visit the scenic crater lakes before checking in at your lodge.
Start with an early morning game drive to look for lions, elephants, buffalo, and leopards. In the afternoon, enjoy a boat safari on the Kazinga Channel — a highlight of the park. Glide past hippos, crocodiles, and waterbirds while elephants gather along the shore.
After breakfast, journey through the Ishasha sector, famous for its tree-climbing lions lounging in fig trees. Continue on to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and home to nearly half the world’s remaining mountain gorillas. Settle into your forest lodge and soak in the anticipation for tomorrow’s trek.
Today is the day — a once-in-a-lifetime gorilla trekking adventure. With expert trackers, venture into the misty forest to find a gorilla family. When you meet them, time seems to stand still. Watch the gentle silverback and his family in a moment of shared wonder. Your visit supports conservation and community programs that help protect this endangered species.
After breakfast, drive to Lake Mburo National Park, Uganda’s smallest but most intimate savannah park. En route, enjoy the changing landscapes — terraced hills, banana plantations, and small homesteads. At Lake Mburo, relax by the water or meet local cattle herders to learn about the traditions of the Ankole longhorn cattle.
Start your day with a guided walking safari through acacia woodlands and open plains. See zebra, impala, giraffe, and eland up close — a quiet, soul-stirring farewell to Uganda’s wild beauty. After breakfast, drive back to Entebbe in time for your onward flight
