DAY 1: Take a morning flight from Addis Ababa to the Bale Mountains, where you’ll meet your guide and continue to your campsite. After a brief rest, explore the park headquarters and nearby juniper woodlands, home to endemic wildlife such as the Mountain Nyala, Ethiopian Bushbuck, Warthog, Reedbuck, and Baboons. Bird enthusiasts can spot species like the Abyssinian Catbird, Wattled Ibis, and Black-headed Siskin.

Overnight: Camping in Bale Mountains National Park

Sodota Campsite, Rira, Ethiopia

After breakfast, begin a 20 km trek from Dinsho through the stunning Web Valley toward Fincha Habera Waterfall, where the Web and Wolla rivers meet. Along the way, watch for the Ethiopian Wolf, raptors, Rock Hyrax, and endemic birds like the Blue-winged Goose. Enjoy coffee or tea on arrival at Sodota Campsite (3,500m).

Overnight: Sodota Campsite

DAY 3: Trek for about 7–8 hours through breathtaking landscapes with panoramic views. Pass through lava fields where Lammergeyers and Verreaux’s Eagles nest, and keep an eye out for the Ethiopian Wolf and diverse birdlife along the trail.

Overnight: Wassama Campsite (3,900 m)

Bale Mountains National Park, Rira, Ethiopia

Continue trekking for about 6–7 hours through a dramatic wilderness that reveals the park’s volcanic origins. This route between Kerrensa and Rafu showcases striking basalt formations, granite boulders, and glacially sculpted valleys — a truly breathtaking section of the Bale highlands.

Overnight: Rafu Campsite (4,000 m)

Sanetti Plateau, Ethiopia

DAY 5: Leave Rafu after breakfast and hike to the Sanetti Plateau (4,000 m), home to the Ethiopian Wolf, Giant Mole Rat, and other endemic species. Visit Garba Guracha (“Black Lake”) and enjoy panoramic views of Mount Tullu Deemtu (4,377 m), Ethiopia’s second-highest peak. The plateau is a hotspot for wildlife and birdlife, with over 310 bird species recorded.

Overnight: Sanetti Campsite

Goba, Ethiopia

DAY 6: After an early breakfast, drive from the Sanetti Plateau to the Harenna Forest, Ethiopia’s second-largest tropical forest. Enjoy panoramic views and a chance to spot more endemic wildlife. Continue to Goba, stopping along the way for scenic breaks. Upon arrival, enjoy lunch and Ethiopian coffee at one of the town’s best restaurants before your transfer to the airport for departure.
