4-day Bale Mountain Trekking And Wildlife Safari Tour
Join us on an authentic 4-day journey through the breathtaking Bale Mountains, a region known for its stunning landscapes and rich biodiversity. Our Bale Mountains Hiking and Nature Tour offers a unique opportunity to explore the pristine beauty of Ethiopia’s highlands, with hikes through lush forests, expansive plateaus, and around serene alpine lakes. You'll discover the region’s endemic wildlife, including the elusive Ethiopian wolf, and visit local villages.
Day 1: Fly Addis Ababa to Bale Goba
You will fly Addis Ababa at 9:30 am and arrive in Bale Goba at 10:35 am, where your driver-guide and a local Bale Mountains specialist will meet you. After a coffee in Goba town, you will drive to Dinsho National Park for a short hike to spot the Mountain Nyala, Menelik's Bushbuck, and other endemic species. The day ends with a drive to Goba town, dinner at Nurobe Hotel, and an overnight stay.
Day 2:
After breakfast, you will hike to Lake Geber-Guracha, a journey of about 4 hours, with chances of spotting the Ethiopian wolf. You’ll enjoy a picnic lunch by the 3,900m-high lake and visit nearby local villages before continuing to the Sanetti Plateau. The day includes a hike around Tullu Demtu (4,377m) and a drive to Harena Forest, followed by dinner and overnight at Nurobe Hotel.
Day 3: Explore Harena Forest
Begin the day with a 3-hour hike through the beautiful Harena Forest, returning to the lodge for lunch. In the afternoon, take a shorter hike to the stunning Bale Waterfalls and enjoy the forest scenery. The day concludes with dinner and another overnight stay at Nurobe Hotel.
Day 4: Fly Bale Goba to Addis Ababa
After breakfast, enjoy a short hike near Goba before preparing for your departure. You will fly from Bale Goba back to Addis Ababa, leaving at 3:30 pm. Arrive in the capital at 4:25 pm, marking the end of your adventure.
