2 Days Akagera National Park Safari
A 2-day safari in Akagera National Park offers an immersive experience into Rwanda's only savannah reserve, teeming with wildlife and diverse ecosystems.
Day 1: Arrival & Exploration
Morning: Depart from Kigali around 6:00 AM for the 2.5-hour drive to Akagera National Park.
Midday: Check-in at your accommodation, such as Akagera Game Lodge, Akagera Transit Lodge, etc.
Afternoon: Embark on a boat cruise on Lake Ihema, the park's largest lake, to spot hippos, crocodiles, and a variety of bird species.
Day 2: Wildlife Safari & Return
Early Morning: Set out for a 6 hour game drive to encounter the Big Five—lions, elephants, buffaloes, leopards, and rhinoceroses.
Lunch: Picnic lunch break at lake Mihindi.
Afternoon: Continue with the game drive up to the exit and begin the journey back to Kigali, with optional stops for sightseeing along the way.
