Wildebeest Migration Calving Trip
This 7-day midrange safari explores four of Tanzania's top destinations: Ndutu, Ngorongoro Crater, Tarangire, and Lake Manyara. Guided by expert driver guides, the tour provides an excellent opportunity to witness wildebeest giving birth to the young ones in the Ndutu region. Ideal for travel between late December and early April, this safari includes accommodation in midrange hotels or lodges, ensuring an unforgettable adventure.
Upon arrival at Kilimanjaro or Arusha Airport, a Maramatta Safaris representative will welcome you and transfer you to your accommodation in Arusha for an overnight stay, giving you time to rest and recharge before the adventures that await the next day.
After breakfast at 8:00 AM, you’ll be briefed and depart for Tarangire National Park, famous for elephants, baobabs, and diverse wildlife. Enjoy a hot picnic lunch, continue exploring, then head to Karatu for dinner and an overnight stay
Your safari starts at 8 AM from Karatu toward the Ndutu region through the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. Enjoy a half-day game drive with a picnic lunch amid vast grasslands, home to migrating wildebeest, zebras, and antelopes. From December to April, witness calving season and abundant predators before heading to your lodge for dinner.
After breakfast, you will enjoy a game drive in the Ndutu Region before proceeding to the Central Serengeti. Lunch will be served along the way, after which you will continue your journey with an en route game drive, offering more opportunities to spot wildlife before reaching the Central Serengeti.
After a relaxed breakfast, you will set out on an immersive full-day game drive in the Central Serengeti. During the day, you will have the chance to spot a variety of wildlife, including lions, cheetahs, elephants, buffaloes, giraffes, and zebras as well as other animals. In the evening, you will return to your accommodation for relaxation, dinner, and an overnight stay.
After an early breakfast, you’ll drive to the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, pausing at a scenic crater viewpoint before descending into the world’s largest intact volcanic caldera. Home to around 30,000 animals, the crater offers a chance to see the “Big Five” amid breathtaking scenery. Enjoy a picnic lunch during your game drive, then continue exploring until late afternoon before ascending the crater and returning to Karatu for dinner and an overnight stay.
After breakfast, head to Lake Manyara National Park, famous for tree-climbing lions, elephants, and rich birdlife. Enjoy lunch in the park, explore more, then return to Arusha or Kilimanjaro Airport.
