Wild Uganda: Primates & Wildlife Adventure
This journey blends Uganda’s most iconic experiences into one unforgettable adventure. Arrive to the calm shores of Lake Victoria before heading to Fort Portal for scenic crater lakes and rich Tooro culture. Track wild chimpanzees in Kibale Forest, then continue to Queen Elizabeth National Park for classic savannah game drives and a spectacular boat cruise along the hippo-filled Kazinga Channel. Travel through the Ishasha plains in search of the rare tree-climbing lions before reaching Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, where you will spend a once-in-a-lifetime hour with the endangered mountain gorillas. Finish with a scenic return to Entebbe or an optional bush flight for a smooth and effortless departure.
Upon arrival at Entebbe International Airport, you will be warmly welcomed by your guide and transferred to your hotel in Entebbe (approx. 10 minutes) and check in. Enjoy the evening at leisure.

After breakfast, enjoy a scenic 5-hour drive to Fort Portal, a charming town at the foothills of the Mountains of the Moon. After check-in and lunch, take a guided walk through the stunning Crater Lakes region. Learn about the Tooro Kingdom, local traditions, and daily life, with a visit to a nearby homestead for cultural insight. Dinner and overnight at Crater Safari Lodge.
After an early breakfast, proceed to the park headquarters for your chimpanzee trekking briefing. Spend the morning exploring Kibale Forest in search of chimps and other primates. Return for lunch, then drive to Queen Elizabeth National Park (approx. 3.5 hours). Continue to your lodge and check in for dinner and an overnight at Marafiki Safari Lodge
Begin with a sunrise game drive in the Kasenyi sector, renowned for lions, Uganda kob, elephants, buffalos, and classic savannah wildlife. After lunch at Mweya Safari Lodge, enjoy a 2-hour Kazinga Channel boat cruise, offering close sightings of hippos, buffalo herds, and abundant birdlife. An evening game drive leads you back to the lodge for dinner and overnight at Marafiki Safari Lodge.
After breakfast, drive to Bwindi via the Ishasha sector, famed for rare tree-climbing lions. Look out for elephants, buffalo, topis, and more as you enjoy this scenic wildlife route. Enjoy a picnic lunch before continuing into the misty hills of Bwindi’s southern sector. Arrive at your lodge, relax, and soak in the forest views before dinner and an overnight at Gorilla Leisure Lodge.
Today is the highlight of your safari—gorilla trekking. After breakfast, meet expert rangers for a briefing, then trek through Bwindi’s lush rainforest in search of a habituated gorilla family. The hike can take 1–8 hours over steep, muddy terrain, but rewards you with an unforgettable hour with these gentle giants. With only 8 visitors per group daily, this rare, intimate experience is truly unforgettable. Dinner and overnight at Gorilla Leisure Lodge.
After breakfast, begin the scenic drive back to Entebbe (approx. 10 hours), passing Ntungamo, Mbarara, Masaka, and the Equator, with lunch en route. Arrive in time to connect with your evening departure flight. Optional: Transfer to Kisoro Airstrip for a short scheduled flight to Entebbe with Aerolink or Pearlsky—quick, convenient, and highly recommended. Flight schedule subject to reconfirmation.
Guests must be 15 for gorilla trekking and 12 for chimp trekking.
Bring long trousers, gaiters or gloves, sturdy hiking shoes, a rain jacket, insect repellent, binoculars, a camera, and water.
Maintain a 7-meter distance from primates. Gorilla treks last 2–8 hours, while chimp treks are generally easier. During game drives, guests remain in the vehicle unless guided otherwise.
