Every year in January, Benin comes alive with the rhythm of the Vodun Days, a unique event celebrating the country’s rich spiritual and cultural heritage. In Ouidah, the cradle of Vodun, immerse yourself in an authentic experience where traditions, rituals, and emotions come together.
Witness grand ceremonies, discover the sacred dances of the Zangbeto and Egungun, and be captivated by a mystical and fascinating atmosphere. Walk along the legendary Slave Route to the Door of No Return, a powerful symbol of memory and history. A unique journey between spirituality, history, and discovery.

Day 1: Arrival in Cotonou
Arrival at Cotonou International Airport. Warm welcome by our team and transfer to your hotel. Brief presentation of the program and free time to relax. Overnight stay in Cotonou.
Day 2: Ganvié & Cotonou
Discover Ganvié, the famous lake village where daily life takes place on water. Explore floating markets and local culture. Afternoon city tour of Cotonou including the Amazon statue and local markets. Overnight in Cotonou.
Day 3: Porto-Novo
Visit Porto-Novo, the administrative capital. Explore the Honmè Royal Palace Museum and enjoy a canoe ride on the Black River. Discover local traditions and cultural heritage. Return and overnight in Cotonou.
Day 4: Dassa & Abomey
Travel to Dassa, the city of 41 hills. Enjoy a hike with panoramic views and visit the sacred Marian grotto. Continue to Abomey for overnight stay.
Day 5: Abomey & Ouidah
Explore Abomey, former capital of the Dahomey Kingdom. Visit royal palaces and Vodun temples. Learn about the rich history and traditions. Transfer to Ouidah. Overnight stay.
Day 6: Ouidah & Grand-Popo
Visit the Python Temple, Sacred Forest, and the Slave Route ending at the Door of No Return. Visit to the salt production island.
Day 7: Grand-Popo
Relax in the coastal town of Grand-Popo. Visit a marine turtle conservation center and enjoy a boat trip to the estuary. Lunch on an island. Return to Cotonou. Overnight stay.
Day 8: Vodun Days festivities.
Participation in various ceremonies and traditional dances of the deities and sacred masks. Hiking to reach the different locations of these ceremonies.
Day 9: Departure
Leave for the village of Gogotinkpon. Boat trip through the mangroves to reach the site. Enjoy a therapeutic clay bath and traditional massage. Overnight in Cotonou.
Day 10: Departure
Free time depending on your schedule. Transfer to the airport for your departure. End of services.
