Ultimate Uganda Gorilla Safari Adventure
Gorilla trekking in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park is an unforgettable wildlife encounter. The adventure begins with a morning briefing by park rangers before heading into the dense rainforest in search of a mountain gorilla family. The trek can take from one to several hours, navigating steep trails, lush vegetation, and breathtaking scenery. Along the way, you may spot birds, monkeys, and other forest wildlife. Once the gorillas are located, you spend up to one magical hour observing them as they feed, play, and interact. The experience is both thrilling and humbling, offering a rare and intimate glimpse into the lives of these gentle giants.
Day 1: ARRIVAL - ENTEBBE
On your arrival at Entebbe, you will be met by your guide and transferred to your hotel (approximately 10 minutes drive). Check in.
Overnight at Lake Victoria Hotel Entebbe.
Meal Plan: No meals
Day 2: A scenic 10-hour drive from Entebbe to Bwindi, passing Masaka, Mbarara, and Ntungamo with lunch enroute and stops to enjoy rural landscapes, plantations, and Ankole cattle. Arrive in the evening and check in at Gorilla Leisure Lodge. Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner.
Day 3 features the highlight of the safari—gorilla trekking. After breakfast, transfer to the park headquarters for a briefing, then hike through Bwindi’s rainforest to locate a gorilla family. The trek can take 1–several hours, with chances to see other wildlife and birds. Spend one hour observing the gorillas as they feed, play, and interact. After this magical experience, return to Gorilla Leisure Lodge. Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner
After an early breakfast, transfer back to Entebbe with lunch en route. Make a stop at the Equator for photos and souvenir shopping before continuing to Entebbe. Upon arrival, check in for your international flight. Departure should be booked after 20h00
Things to bring for Bwindi NP:
Long-sleeved shirts and long trousers, sturdy, waterproof hiking shoes, lightweight rain jacket or poncho, gaiters or long socks, gardening or hiking gloves, a hat and sunscreen, neutral-colored clothing.
In Entebbe and during the drive to Bwindi NP:
Light, breathable clothes such as T-shirts, light trousers or shorts, as Entebbe is warm and humid.
Comfortable walking shoes or sandals for travel and exploring town, sun hat, sunglasses, and sunscreen.
