Day 1: Nairobi to Met Station
Your adventure begins with a scenic drive from Nairobi to Naro Moru Gate, the starting point of your trek. After meeting your mountain guides and porters, you’ll begin hiking through lush montane forest filled with birds and monkeys. As you gain altitude, the forest thins into bamboo and open heath. You’ll arrive at Met Station (3,050m) in the afternoon and settle in for the night, enjoying dinner and acclimatizing to the mountain air.
Day 2: Met Station to Mackinders Camp
Rise early for a full-day trek across alpine moorland. The path is dotted with giant lobelias and groundsels, unique to Mt. Kenya’s high-altitude environment. The scenery opens up with stunning valley views as you approach Mackinders Camp (4,200m), nestled below the towering peaks. Evening at the camp offers breathtaking sunset views and a chance to rest and prepare for summit day.
Day 3: Summit Attempt & Return to Met Station
Before dawn, begin your push to Point Lenana (4,985m), the third-highest peak of Mt. Kenya. Watch an unforgettable sunrise spill across the mountain and distant plains, a moment of pure triumph. After photos and celebration, descend carefully back to Met Station, passing once more through the beautiful moorlands. Relax and enjoy your final night on the mountain.
Day 4: Return to Nairobi
