6 Days Hikking / Marrakech & Essaouira Exploring
Explore North Africa's highest peak, Mount Toubkal, by hiking to its summit, which is 4,167m high, and end it with a vibrant cultural immersion in the bustling heart of Marrakech.
Day 1: Upon arrival at Marrakech airport, you’ll be met by our local guide. After the transfer to Imlil, you’ll have the opportunity to stop at the Asni souk if it’s a market day. Once in Imlil, you’ll enjoy a traditional Berber dinner. After dinner, you’ll have free time to explore this charming Berber village, enjoy a mint tea and get to know the local culture and people.
Day 2: After breakfast, we head out at 8 a.m., with our bags loaded onto mules, then begin your trek through rugged trails, terraced fields, and Berber villages. After about 6–7 hours of hiking, you’ll reach the Toubkal Refuge (3,200m), where you’ll rest for the night in a communal mountain hut or camp under the stars.
Day 3: Summit Day & Return to Marrakech Start before dawn for the ascent to Mount Toubkal’s summit. The climb is steep and challenging but offers breathtaking views over the Atlas range and, on clear days, all the way to the Sahara. After celebrating at the peak, descend back to Imlil for a hot shower and relaxing after this challenge, diner and overnight at the Riad
Day 4: Transfer from Imlil to Marrakech After breakfast, we head to Marrakech for a guided city tour. Visit the iconic Jemaa el-Fnaa square, explore the Koutoubia Mosque and its stunning minaret, and admire the Bahia Palace, then we lead you through the medina's narrow lanes, revealing artisan workshops, souks, and local treasures—perfect for a cultural immersion.
Day 5: Marrakech - Essaouira After breakfast, leave to the coastal city of Essaouira, famous for its relaxed atmosphere and historic charm. Our local guide wi'll stroll with you through the medina to explore its vibrant souks and artisan shops. Visit the impressive Skala de la Ville, a fortified sea bastion, and enjoy panoramic views of the Atlantic Ocean. Savor fresh seafood at one of the local restaurants, then unwind on the sandy beaches before heading back to Marrakech.
Day 6: Departure Breakfast at your hotel, and accordingly to your flight time table, transfer to the airport of Marrakech
For Atlas Trekking, prepare for changing weather—warm during the day, but cold and windy in the mountains, especially in autumn to spring. Treks can be customized to your fitness level, with options for staying in Berber Guesthouses or wild camping with mules. Here's a packing checklist:
