5 Days Maasai Mara, Lake Nakuru And Lake Naivasha Safari
This safari takes you to the lakes at the floor of the Rift Valley with their unique and majestic beauty. From Lake Nakuru National Park which is home to numerous bird species, to the world famous Maasai Mara and topped off with a boat ride to the beautiful Crescent Island on Lake Naivasha.
Day 1: Depart Nairobi early for the Masai Mara (5–6 hrs by road or short flight). Check in at your lodge and enjoy lunch. In the afternoon, embark on your first game drive, spotting lions, cheetahs, leopards, and, seasonally, the Great Migration. End the day with a sundowner in the savannah, followed by dinner and relaxation at your lodge.
Day 2: Start the day with an optional hot air balloon safari over the Masai Mara, followed by a champagne breakfast, or enjoy an early morning game drive. Spend the day on morning and afternoon game drives, exploring the Mara River and spotting wildlife, including predators and, seasonally, the Great Migration. Enjoy lunch in the reserve or at the lodge, then return for dinner and overnight stay.
Day 3: After breakfast and check-out, drive (~5–6 hrs) to Lake Nakuru, passing the Great Rift Valley with scenic stops. Check in and have lunch. Afternoon game drive to see flamingos, rhinos, lions, and leopards. End the day with a sundowner by the lake and dinner at your lodge.
After breakfast and check-out, drive 1–2 hours to Lake Naivasha and check in at your lodge. Enjoy a boat ride spotting hippos, birds, and possibly giraffes and zebras along the shore. Have lunch, then take a guided walking safari on Crescent Island with close encounters with giraffes, zebras, and antelopes. End the day with a sundowner by the lake and dinner at your lodge.
Optional early morning activity at Hell’s Gate National Park, such as a game drive or cycling safari. After breakfast and check-out, drive 2–3 hours back to Nairobi, with a stop for lunch en route. Arrive in the late afternoon or evening for transfer to the airport or your hotel to conclude the journey.
