3 Days Safari: Mikumi National Park
The Mikumi National Park shares its boundary in the south with Selous Game Reserve and Kilombero Game Controlled Area. Animals move between Selous, Kilombero and Mikumi National parks each year depending on the season of the year. Animals like Wild dogs, lions, Elephant, Buffaloes and Zebras migrate to and from the northern part of the reserve into Mikumi National Park.This national park is definitely a park that is surrounded with the wild throughout the year!
Early morning our driver will pick you up from Dar Es Salaam from your Hotel and start safari to Mikumi National Park; the trip will take approximately 5 hours to arrive at Mikumi NP. Arrive at Mikumi and direct to the game drive.
Mikumi national park is mostly miombo woodland with gently rolling hills. Later return to the Lodge for dinner and overnight.

In the morning after breakfast, leave for the full game drive with a packed lunch. Animals commonly found here include lion, eland, hartebeest, buffalo, wildebeest, giraffe, zebra and elephant. Wild dog can be seen in packs here. The open horizons and abundant wildlife of the Mkata Floodplain, the popular centerpiece of Mikumi, draw frequent comparisons to the more famous Serengeti Plains. After game drive depart to the Lodge for dinner and overnight.

After breakfast you will start the day with a cultural visit to a local Maasai village in Mikumi. If time allows, we’ll pass by the local women’s market. The Maasai are a popular traditional tribe in Tanzania and Kenya. This trip is optional so those rushing to make the journey back to Zanzibar can opt out of this cultural visit. Afterwards you will start your journey back to Dar-es-Salaam. You will arrive back before dark where you will be dropped off at the hotel of your choice.
