3 Days Awash National Park & Wildlife Adventure
Embark on this adventure exploring Awash National Park and the Great Rift Valley, featuring scenic volcanic landscapes, Lake Beseka, and rich birdlife. Enjoy wildlife game drives with sightings of oryx, gazelles, baboons, and more. Relax at the natural hot springs of Doho Lodge and explore Aledeghi Wildlife Reserve before returning to Addis Ababa via the beautiful crater lakes of Bishoftu.
Day 1: Depart Addis Ababa in the morning and drive about 230 km to Awash National Park through the scenic Great Rift Valley and volcanic landscapes. Stop at Lake Beseka to observe rich birdlife such as pelicans, fish eagles, and storks, as well as Kereyu pastoralists with camel herds. Continue to Awash National Park to visit Awash Falls and enjoy an evening game drive with wildlife including oryx, baboons, gazelles, warthogs, and kudu.
Overnight at Doho Lodge & Hot Springs.
Day 2: Begin the day with an early game drive in Aledeghi Wildlife Reserve, known for species such as Beisa oryx, Grevy’s zebra, Soemmering’s gazelle, gerenuk, and a variety of birdlife. After the drive, return to Doho Lodge and relax at the natural hot springs overlooking Lake Doho. Optional visits to nearby Afar villages offer insight into local culture and lifestyle.

Day 3: After breakfast, drive back to Addis Ababa via the expressway. En route, stop at the scenic crater lakes of Debre Zeit (Bishoftu) for relaxation or refreshments. Arrive in Addis Ababa in the late afternoon, marking the end of your memorable Rift Valley adventure.
Tour includes travel through semi-arid regions with warm temperatures, so light clothing, sun protection, and comfortable shoes are recommended.
Accommodation is at Doho Lodge with access to natural hot springs.
Game drives are guided by experienced rangers, and wildlife sightings may vary depending on conditions.
