13 Days Primates Trekking And Wildlife Adventure Uganda
This 13-day Primates Trekking and Wildlife Uganda Tour package is a journey through beautiful scenery and a visit to Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary, Murchison Falls National Park, Kibale National Park, Queen Elizabeth National Park, Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, Lake Bunyonyi, Lake Mburo National Park, Mabira Forest, and a city tour.
Day 1: Your driver guide will be waiting for you at the airport holding a board with your names; he will drive you to your hotel to refresh, rest, and have a meal/snack depending on your arrival time. The driver guide will brief you on the next day's itinerary and inform you of the pickup time. Dinner and overnight.
Day 2: Have breakfast and prepare for pickup from your hotel. Drive northwards on the Kampala—Gulu road for approximately two and a half hours and get to the Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary. In addition to the rhinos, the sanctuary harbors several other types of wildlife, including hippos, bushbucks, oribis, and many birds. After trekking, get back on the road and proceed to Murchison Falls National Park. Check in at your accommodation, have lunch, and relax; have dinner; and rest for the night.
Wake up to a cup of tea, and at 6.30 am, set off for the game drive. Expect sightings of lions, elephants, oribi, warthogs, and lots of savanna birds. After close to four hours, return to your accommodation for breakfast and lunch. Later, set out for the afternoon launch cruise along the Nile to the base of the Murchison Falls. Many wildlife sightings along the Nile, including hippos, crocodiles, and many water birds. At the base of the falls, transfer back to your lodge. Dinner and overnight.
Day 4: Have breakfast, check out of the lodge, and leave for Kibale National Park. The drive along the scenic Albertine Rift Valley continues. You will stop over in Fort Portal town for lunch before proceeding to Kibale Forest National Park. Check into your booked accommodation. Spend the day relaxing and enjoying the natural environment outside at the lodge.
Day 5: Chimpanzee tracking—Evening bigod nature walk Wake up to an early breakfast at 6:30 am and transfer to the park offices for briefing. By 8:00 am, you trek into the forest to find the chimps and see a lot of wildlife. Return to the lodge for lunch. Later, head out for a nature walk in Bigodi Swamp for sightings of primates and birds. Dinner and overnight at the booked accommodation.
Day 6: After breakfast, check out of the lodge and head for Queen Elizabeth National Park. You will stop over in Fort Portal town for lunch. Get to the park and drive to the lodge while enjoying the breathtaking scenery of beautiful crater lakes dotted across the lush landscape. You will get to your booked accommodation in the late afternoon and spend the rest of the afternoon enjoying the beautiful nature across the park.
Day 7: Wake up to an early cup of tea/coffee at 6.00 am and set out for an early game drive. Games to see include lions, buffaloes, elephants, hyenas, kobs, and topis. The scenery is amazing with crater lakes and grassy hills. After close to three hours, return to the lodge for breakfast. After lunch, set out for the boat safari on the Kazinga Channel. The channel attracts a plethora of wildlife, including hippos, buffaloes, lots of water birds, and wonderful scenery. Dinner and overnight.
Day 8: Wake up to an early breakfast, check out of the accommodation, and travel to the southern area of the park called Ishasha. This area is popular for the tree-climbing lions, and if you are lucky, you may see them. Other big game in this area includes elephants, topis, and buffaloes, among others. Lunch in Ishasha; thereafter, travel southwards to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. Check in at your accommodation for dinner and overnight.
Day 9: Wake up to breakfast at 6:30 am, pick up a packed lunch, transfer to the park offices for a briefing, and be assigned a gorilla group you shall track. At eight am, transfer to the start of the trek and head into the forest to find gorillas. You are allowed no more than an hour. Return to the lodge for a snack and refreshment; later, visit the Batwa community to see the indigenous ways of living. Return to lodge for dinner and overnight.
Day 10: Transfer to Lake Bunyonyi for a relaxation experience; get to your accommodation in time for lunch. After lunch relax a bit, and then later go for a canoe ride on one of the deepest lakes in the world. You can choose to ride the canoe yourself or use a guide to ride with you. Return to the lodge for dinner and overnight.
Day 11: Have breakfast, check out, and transfer to Lake Mburo National Game Park. Get to Lake Mburo in time for lunch, check in to your accommodation, and then have lunch. After lunch relax, and then later go for an afternoon game drive in the park and get to see a beautiful sunset on the plains. Return to the lodge for dinner and overnight.
Day 12: Wake up for an early morning nature walk into the park for a chance to catch some nocturnal wildlife in a close encounter. You are led by an armed ranger; after the walk, return to the lodge, relax, refresh, and have lunch. Later on, after lunch, set out for a relaxing evening boat ride on Lake Mburo, which gives you a chance to view some wildlife, including hippos and several birds. Return to the lodge for dinner and overnight.
Day 13: Wake up and have breakfast, check out of the lodge, and travel back to Entebbe or drop you off at your desired destination. Lunch is en route. You also get to make a stopover at the equator point for some picture moments.
